so some people wanted a term for being attracted to "opposite gender, opposite genitals", and called it superstraight. the internet, of course, reacted very reasonably, did not proceed to call them horrific transphobes, and reaffirmed any sexual preference is valid. ....right?

The thing is that they didn’t specify opposite genitals, they specified chromosomes. That’s what people are mad about. Nothing wrong with genital preferences, I’ve seen plenty of people reiterating that. The problem is rejecting trans people categorically regardless of anatomy.

I think you're strawmanning - the issue isn't with these folks' preferences, it's the claim that those prefs make one "more straight". Seems like it's mostly a joke/bait so w/e, but having those preferences =/= attempting to create an identity and positioning it that way.
