I wonder if Tom Cruise feels really violated. He's got a public image to maintain and is presumably careful about it, but now the world had its hands on him and can make "him" do anything they want. It feels... kinda objectifying to me. Also I'm scared of deepfakes personally.

2 years ago on stage I was asked “when will Deepfake video/audio impact trust & be believable in social engineering?” My response then was that we were 2 years away from undetectable Deepfakes. I wish my prediction then was wrong. We need synthetic media detection + labels ASAP.

I think it's great. Can't wait for #deepfakes to be so ubiquitous that nobody believes anything they see on the Internet. It'd probably be good for Tom as well, so he doesn't have to worry about being snooped by Paparazzi anymore, because everyone would think videos are fake.

There are opportunities and threats for online sex workers. You could license your own DeepLikeness to other cam girls; or alternatively you could 'reskin' your own content with someone else's likeness and reach other niches.

I would feel violated in certain circumstances, and honored in other. I think it comes down to consent.
