the housing market is booming; should i try to get a house now or should i wait for a drop once people start returning to cities?

We're in the midst of the biggest crypto bull run in history. Investing money in a house seems less than optimal.

If “getting a house” means purchasing the land and structure outright, there exist few modes of expenditure more aligned with the low time preference ethos of the Bitcoin community than to establish full property ownership as one’s self-sovereign foundation.

I think it's too abstract of a question for a good answer. I just bought because I know I want to live in this region for a long time, and it's in line with long-term personal goals (career, family). Given uncertainty in those parameters, unclear I'd have made the same choice.

It's a good time to buy a downtown condo, esp. in Seattle & Vancouver.
Not a great time to buy a suburb property, they've been hot all of 2020.

The mass migration has only just begun. The vast majority haven’t had a chance to leave where they were previously forced to live

The finance rates right now are excellent. If it makes sense for you, you can get money very very cheap.
