a lotta like uh IDW types showed up which was very interesting but i gotta say i am so unused to their style of conversation. everyone holds very strong frame and i get very confused what if any meta-level conversational moves are available. hmm

i get the sense that this is pretty normal in like "masculine" or "competitive" spaces but i haven't had to actually deal with it in possibly literally years and it's just kinda jarring

Yes exposure to this on clubhouse made me start talking about gendered communications more with my friends
The idw on Clubhouse do what I call "podiuming" a lot - talking to you in a way where you feel interchangeable with literally anyone else
in circling the topic of the conversation is the unique experience of that particular conversation
???in podiuming the conversation is jockeying for generic roles in a dominance hierarchy, where any two people could fill those slots
(just guessing w/ no recent exp of this)

I don't have access to clubhouse, so all I have is this description to understand what you mean but... That´s how I always felt on the internet. Maybe you've been a semi-celeb for long, or a woman, or who knows, but every interaction for me has been like an isolated thing.
