Well actually fuck the nyt. I felt roughly neutral about them but now that I saw them write about a topic I'm deeply familiar with I realize how actually inaccurate and misrepresenting and unethical they are.

Yeah...NYT is a propaganda rag and a poor one at that, but they're very good at inducing Gelman Amnesia. But on the upside, I've been so busy that I missed out on Scott having resurrected things on substack, and that article alerted me, for which I'm deeply grateful.

Gell-Mann amnesia is when you go to other sources after this and don't doubt them. like 50 people have told me it's gell-man amnesia effect but this isn't that.
