That seems a pretty broad set of categories to attribute to monogamy.

For what reasons do people break up in poly relationships?
-
they break up due to polyamorous structure, of course

with cheating it can be hard to attribute. sometimes the relationship ends bc someone wanted to fuck other people, & did, & that wasn't okay, but sometimes it ends bc there were underlying issues, someone lost interest in their partner & fucked someone else, & that wasn't okay
-
if the cheating merely acts as a catalyst to the breakup & exposes underlying issues, is the breakup still primarily due to the monogamous structure of the relationship?

Can't poly relationships break up for those exact same reasons? How do we determine what is a "primarily monogamous structure" beyond the only variable which is consensual involvement of one partner or consensual involvement of many?

Where does "needs not being met" overlap with bigger picture incompatibility I wonder. But while issues with monogamy has never caused a breakup for me, I consider it a real possibility
