As a kid, I looked at 80s photos of my mom and thought her fashion was horrible. I asked her why; she said she thought it looked good cause it was trendy at the time.
This made me intensely suspicious of all fashion, and I refused to dress in anything trendy out of fear.

also: in Germany u can see a rise in 70/80s clothing again, just a bit refined.... looks great tbh just funny to think about it

This "sounds fair" but since fashion evolves from moment to moment it seems ultimately self-defeating.
Granted, I'm no fashion-plate, and I only conform to local trends just enough to not be burned at the stake.
