Most of those images are merely a theoretical model of what Antarctica would look like if all ice suddenly vanished from existence altogether. Few calculate in what it would look like if all the ice melts and water levels rise by a few hundred feet.

I believe I read somewhere scientists found remains of palm tree seeds or some such in Antarctica indicating it once was much warmer. It's a mystifying thought.
