My guess for these poll results: above the US average. https://williamsinstitute.law.ucla.edu/publications/trans-adults-united-states/ …pic.twitter.com/JU8yr5GoFm

I'm female and said no because I'm happily married with children and have settled in nicely with my femaleness. If you asked me at 18, I probably would've preferred to be male.

depends on the bald spot, does it stay

If you go on feminizing HRT, you actually can grow some head hair back, depending on how long it’s been gone. Not that I’d recommend it over, you know, actual hair growth treatments unless you are actually a trans woman.

If it were temporary, and I was more attractive; not the same, I'd consider it tbh.

Trans advocates ask a variant question to help people understand what it's like to be trans. People say no even if offered a "huge sum of money" as a reward for the hypothetical transition.https://twitter.com/__rowboat__/status/1286792985808535552 …

I guess I feel similar to the way you describe in your thread? The thought doesn't really horrify me in a body image sense. The big issue / cost of a magical gender change would be more social: I don't really want to destroy my marriage or other important relationships.

Things I would like: Being physically smaller (my knees hurt), not being a default suspect, getting compliments and affirmations more frequently, being able to be more passive w/r/t finding dates, being explicitly celebrated ("girl power" etc)
-
Things I wouldn't like: Being a target/not being able to go alone to certain places; periods/limited window to have a family; being "non-default" and not knowing if people appreciate me for non-sexual reasons; inability to do certain physical things on my own (moving etc)
