I haven't seen much of this in sex worker communities, but there is sometimes pressure for successful girls to promote less successful. One sex worker friend of mine says this pressure is particularly for race; successful girls are pressured to promote (for free) POC workers.

As the intense Pareto distribution of rewards to camgirls is borne in on its participants, wonder if a movement to socialize and redistribute the gains will emerge

Re: quoted tweet, In crypto, we discuss socializing rewards for artists on the basis that “scenious” plays a predominant role in conception- one is influenced by peers experimentation. It’s not clear this holds true for performers like OF.

It would make sense for the non-Pareto crew to socialize rewards, as it diversifies their income across trends, types and performers— insurance — but for the top performers, there is little incentive as they are (unlike artists) ~nondependent on creative inspiration.

As in any industry, a person with a good reputation and success should only promote those who have the qualities to rise to a similar (or close) reputation or success. Promoting equality does not mean underwriting those without the ability to navigate good reputation and success.
