The issue is not so much academic but psycho-social. Children who go to kindergarten and pre-school develop much faster intellectually and socially. I'm not sure if depriving them of that could be a good idea.

Except school social settings are really abnormal and expose children to a bizarre single segment of age group as their peers.
When I was homeschooled, we socialized regularly with kids and adults of varyinging ages, which imo was much healthier.

But it's supposed to be abnormal ( to a certain extent of course). The child will be exposed to awkward and sometimes difficult situations outside of their safe zone that will enhance their social skills. But I admit that this won't work with everyone.

And the fact that homeschooling creates a more controlled, supervised and safe environment might work against their development since they will be less exposed to the risks of semi supervised or sometimes unsupervised socialization that can occur in schools.

I was homeschooled k-12, and it drives me insane whenever ppl say this. I consider evading the shit from social aspects of public school to be one of the best things that ever happened to me, and my public school friends are still undoing the trauma I escaped
It's like ppl saying bullying prepares you for real life. No it doesn't! It normalizes bullying, fucks you up in key devopmental years, and probably*causes* adults to do the bullying you think you're preparing kids for. Don't fucking abuse kids to make them "stronger'
