A lot of my life plan is focused on making sure that if I do have children, I won't ever have to send them to school

The issue is not so much academic but psycho-social. Children who go to kindergarten and pre-school develop much faster intellectually and socially. I'm not sure if depriving them of that could be a good idea.

Except school social settings are really abnormal and expose children to a bizarre single segment of age group as their peers. When I was homeschooled, we socialized regularly with kids and adults of varyinging ages, which imo was much healthier.

But it's supposed to be abnormal ( to a certain extent of course). The child will be exposed to awkward and sometimes difficult situations outside of their safe zone that will enhance their social skills. But I admit that this won't work with everyone.
