If I let someone know I'm insecure, they'll take it as a (correct) indication that I'm inadequate in some way, and I don't want them to know this because I'm insecure

I think it's fairly easy for this conflict to be resolved through a process of hiding your insecurities from yourself to avoid having to share them.

My insecurity is so strong/established, that I tend no to show my insecurity... making sense?!

Same. I just try and remember that true honesty is incredibly rare and powerful and try and focus on that.

Being open about insecurities can be refreshing for all parties. Breaking open a dam of feelings without any intention or purpose to an audience can often be isolating and create more insecurity.
