i lost touch years ago with a homeless friend I had named Train. Unfortunately googling 'homeless man train' does not work well, and idk how I'm ever going to find him again

Do you know where in California he was heading and if he often used any services offered to the homeless like a shelter or a food kitchen? If yes to both you could try contacting various providers in that area and seeing if they know him, but doesn't seem super likely.
