one thing i didn't expect is that stalking victim support groups are full of people who are extremely not mentally stable

Many who have problems with substance/self abuse tend to fixate. Suicide support is similar. How bad things are are essentially hallucinated in unstable times. With paranoia being such a tell tale symptom of instability, it’s no wonder you see it so with stalking groups.
-
It comes down to imagining things are worse off than they are. An evolutionary program run astray.

Arguably, most people in 'sex addiction support groups' think they're suffering from a syndrome that doesn't actually exist, that hasn't been scientifically validated, and that was invented by unethical profit-seeking therapists & 'treatment centers'.

there needs to be at least one crazy person for someone to end up in a stalking support group, maybe that's just as likely to be the stalker as it is the delusional stalkee
