My gmail emails often go into people's spam folders, despite me never spamming anyone. Any way to fix or am I just gonna actually transition to protonmail now

as far as I know there's nothing you can do on your end. they have to go and flag your email address as "not spam" basically so it'll appear in their main inbox

Hmm... Are you sending them via the official gmail app / website, or via a third-party mail client?

If your gmail account name is like your twitter handle, that is likely enough to flag it as spam, so there might not be any real solution except to choose a different user name. (I have seen this happen to other people before.)

Buy a domain name and make your primary email use it. You can use protonmail or fastmail or many other services. Then if your email host starts being bad, you can switch withour losing your address.

You should have your own domain and host for a few bucks. Makes you completely independent from any specific hoster because you can always move your domain somewhere else.
