ok is there actually a good argument for "race is a lie" or have I been straining my brain trying to understand this in vain? Like, they say there's no racial categories, but... i got a DNA test which puts me into clear categories...

dna tests aren’t identifying your race, they’re identifying genetic clusters that belong to certain ethnicities and then race is applied to that. it’s like looking at a color and calling it warm because it’s red. red is the actual property, but you know it correlates to warm.

race is just arbitrary groupings made up to support the social structure during the enlightenment. it started with (basically) white, black, and asian. whites were trading partners (including arabic peoples), blacks were slaves and colonized, asians had their own world.

As a person who studies animals in general, race to me is pretty much like breeds in cats and dogs. Same species, but have certain features that belong to them because of their environment and selection. Only significant in physical expression and little physiology. Can be mixed.
