ok is there actually a good argument for "race is a lie" or have I been straining my brain trying to understand this in vain? Like, they say there's no racial categories, but... i got a DNA test which puts me into clear categories...

I think this is actually the best argument, since this points out a very real discrepancy between the scientific concept of race and the cultural concept of race. So there is an issue with the term. But then you are right, this argument even further strengthens the science side

"There's no scientific basis for most *cultural* ideas about race" is probably true. Pretending there aren't racial groups that evolved in response to different environmental pressures? That ignores science. They're playing word games, switching the meaning mid-conversation.
