We're already taxing the rich.
"The top 1 percent paid a greater share of individual income taxes (37.3 percent) than the bottom 90 percent combined (30.5 percent)."
The problem here isn't the rich not paying taxes, it's the government.

That’s still a much smaller top tax margin than has been for the past 100 years.

That number isn’t a marginal tax rate, it’s a proportion of all the cash received by the govt paid by each group

That's the top 1% of people who reported income. I think if you look at the top 1% by net worth, the results would be different.

Its not about taxes, its about yielding assets vs savings accounts vs real monetary inflation caused by infinite printing.

But this ignores the fact that the lower 90% are living off their income... While the top 1% have their assets invested in ways that are not taxable

I think the argument (not saying good or bad) is to tax the rich MORE. not that they aren't being taxed at all

Apples Oranges. The rich don't get paid the same way as the bottom 90%. Rich get paid via capital gains (which they can manipulate to pay 0% in taxes as long as they report having earned less than 80k in income)
