Can someone explain to me the allure of "princess" in the sense of "Princess in the streets, slut in the sheets"? Lots of dom/sub stuff involve the term "Princess", and sometimes ppl message me calling me "Princess." Why is it so common and appealing? It mostly just confuses me.

Probably just a (weird) term of endearment

Princess ~ young, virginal, desirable. Queen ~ older, king’s wife, powerful, respected.

Dunno the sex work world, but if I picture a man calling a pretty woman “princess”, like in a movie, it’s usually sarcastic. “You think you’re too good for me but I’ll take you down a peg.” See: Han Solo calling Leia “princess”.

queens have power and responsibility. princesses have proximity to power but not as much responsibility. it’s sort of their job to be cutehttps://twitter.com/visakanv/status/327713353017462785 …

Princess = high status + innocence So, corruptible in a way that "queen" doesn't convey. (If Han Solo referred to Leia as "queen" - completely different connotation)

When I was a child, I pretended to be a prince, not a king, even though kings are the ones with power. But a prince is 1) young and 2) goes on adventures. I feel like there's some similar thing going on here.
