POC are disproportionately impacted by poverty, which makes it harder for them in many areas of life. But shouldn't our reaction to this be helping the poor, most of which will be POC, instead of helping POC, of which a minority will be poor?

Do poor POC actually receive more assistance than poor white people? Genuine question.

I think so? I have low confidence on this and open to changing my mind, but I'm under the impression there's lots of racially-based aid that isn't available to white people.

You're on here talking about how racism is over while also talking about how POC get more/better handouts. Why is that? Can you give a specific example or are you just rubbed wrong?pic.twitter.com/ONxo3KFPW7

There is a logical razor: you believe POC are worse off for either [racist] or [non-racist] reasons. Racist reasons: POC can't pull themselves up by their bootstraps etc. Non racist reasons: systemic oppression is still alive etc.

I think black ppl are worse off likely due to the racist (whether intentionally or not) drug sentencing laws a few decades ago which resulted in widespread broken black families, which in turn led to crime and poverty in black communities.

So somewhere in the middle then? Oppression is over and POC have yet to pull themselves up? Did you not see the conditions people in urban parts of GA had to endure just to vote?

I think generally, systemic racism is over. I think the *effects* of systemic racism are still present with us. Pretty similar to a kid who was abused growing up, and is now an adult living on his own and is no longer abused, but now has lasting damage from the abuse.
