POC are disproportionately impacted by poverty, which makes it harder for them in many areas of life. But shouldn't our reaction to this be helping the poor, most of which will be POC, instead of helping POC, of which a minority will be poor?

It's a common misconception though. People talk about "more" black people being poor, and many take it to mean more total rather than more proportionally. People who are educated on the subject understand this, but i think it's easy to miss if you're not invested.

Didn’t somebody have a plot the other day showing that it’s not that POCs are all poor, just that none of them are rich? Something like: the median income of POCs and the median income of the lower 90% of whites are pretty much equal?
