I expected a change in either direction, I'm surprised by no change. Or was their change in different ppl and they cancelled each other out?

The same people who were polled the first time, should be polled the second time. It’s hard to draw a correlation if that is not the case.

No but a lot of work goes into making sure that the two samples are similar enough in most important respects that they can be compared safely - self-selected samples from follower lists on Twitter don’t do this

Sure - I'm saying that having different sets of people is not inherently a problem. If there's a change in external pressure that change something important about the selection of those people then that would be relevant, the question is how much of that is here
