The redefinition of the word ‘racist’ freaks me out. We went through centuries of rationalizing it any way we could to finally figure out that ‘discrimination based on race’ was a horrible thing regardless of justification. But redefinition is just another justification! 1/

I’ve just given-up in racism as a useful word in those contexts and just describe racial prejudice as bigotry—sufficiently ugly term that hasn’t been redefined.

Uh racism in its modern form is about systemic powers and the hegemonies that exert control over satellite communities. White people have power and in the neocolonial context they therefore cannot be victims of racism. One can discriminate against them, but you can’t be racist

U said, " ‘discrimination based on race’ was a horrible thing regardless of justification. But redefinition is just another justification!" You used the word 'justification'. If people have a justification for doing something that means they're ok with it. ur misrepresenting it

Modern justification is that in context to history, and within any particular group that is not in a perceived "position of power", a person can be both racially prejudiced *and* not racist simultaneously. "X people can't be racist, because they have no power." Redefinition.
