Hey, just FYI minimum wage is absolutely supposed to be able to support a person and if it had kept the pace with inflation it would be $24 an hour today.
There’s a lot that should be done in conjunction; my intuition (could be wrong, stuff is complicated) is that we have too much supply of workers and not enough demand for there to be real competition by companies; we should remove more barriers to entrepreneurship
Another example is the billionaire CEO of Chobani...he pays his employees twice the federal minimum wage. These are entrepreneurs who are pro-employee and pro-living wage. Entrepreneurs of companies that are profitable while still ensuring their employees are cared for.
The problem is that with every loop hole or allowance, you have people that take advantage. It is impossible not to have base laws and regulations because there will always be some sociopath/psychopath/asshole that will take advantage. We can not trust people to behave.
