Sounds like you haven't read "Sex Before Dawn." It's time. Mind you, the authors are popularizers not subject-matter experts. But I think they do smash the old view that all "healthy" human societies have always done sex the way polite modern society says we do it.

Curious too, genes are dependent on the sperm from the father of course but gene expression, can be influenced by sperm from prior male partners.
