How attractive am I? this question is one of the most confusing/surreal ones, and I think this generalizes to a lot of other people. I have evidence I am attractive. I make good money off it and people tell me I'm very hot. This should be the end of it, right? No.

sure but you'd also need some sort of way to make sure all the lighting/angles are equal and to not use any filters

Hmm. The app could explicitly request standardized portrait and profile photos, and could detect and disqualify filtered photos automatically. It'd make the app more boring, get fewer users, and probably worsen selection bias, though.
