It's funny we hear that but also nothing about how men were the ones expected to go die in wars. In a different frame (not that I necessarily agree) you could argue that women had the advantage due to amount of physical danger they were protected from that men weren't

I'm not really sure what you mean, I think we all know that men were the ones being sent to die in wars and that was precisely because they weren't treated like children. You want your most effective soldiers surely?

Surely systematic problems with both masculinity and femininity exist because of power structures in society that have influenced culture and behaviour of all people. And these power structures are patriarchal, hence why toxic masculinity is more emblematic of the problem.
