It's enough to believe that certain words are usually associated with certain intentions to believe that words can indeed be racist... No need to invoke magic inherent sound powers

For a word to be racist in and of itself it must be racist in every instance of its use. Otherwise the racism belongs to the context of that use, rather than the word.
