I have views on the handling of covid that I'm afraid to say on twitter. This is interesting because there's not a lot I'm afraid to say on twitter.
Even more interesting is I wasn't fully aware of the fear until recently; it felt like I just "didn't feel like talking about it"

I think it's because the topic feels both highly energized and cause I'm disagreeing primarily with my ingroup, and I don't anticipate much ingroup support to back me up

Right, but one thing that took me a long time to learn is that occasionally they *are* wrong, and I do have the confidence to occasionally disagree with high confidence

There few things that have been more divisive in my experience. My posts at the beginning of the pandemic infuriated friends and family, *regardless* of what I actually said. It was the topic, not my stance.
