Christianity was a religion that started out small, with members hunted down and killed. And then it grew, and once it gained power it did a lot of hunting and killing of its own. Very often, persecuted underdogs end up being just as awful as the persecutors.

Impotence can breed resentment, frustration, and a sense of entitlement. When you add power to that mix the concoction is explosive and corrosive.

I've been thinking about this for a while. There's this idea that one side is right and the other side is wrong. Both sides can be wrong even if one side suffers more than the other.
