Given how much ppl around me seem to be into leaving to form their own communities, I'm sorta surprised I haven't yet heard any black people suggest moving en masse to a predominantly black country to make their own city there, given how displeased they are about the US.

I'm not commenting on the idea itself, I'm just noticing that it seems weird that I haven't heard it suggested yet. Lots of my own friends who are less angry at the US are planning on leaving the country to make their own community somewhere more independent.

(Admittedly fairly ignorant on this topic, but) I think packing up and starting your own community takes a lot of money, connectedness, and security - things that are going to be in shorter supply among oppressed people. Also a tension w/abandoning those who can’t come.

I mean, sure, but a lot of the black people I hear who are very upset with the US definitely have the resources to move if they want to. And maybe it's not enough, but I still am surprised I haven't even heard it mentioned.

“a lot of the black people I hear who are very upset with the US definitely have the resources to move” That’s a small minority of black people. The general majority do not have the resources to move and create a new society. The same goes for most disgruntled groups
