My brain is definitely starting to process "yt" as a racial slur, I only ever get called that when people are trying to dismiss me as bad because of my race

yt (and similar) became a thing when facebook started censoring posts that mentioned white people, not as a fun new slur. it's as much as a slur as plain old white is lol

I don't think so, at least not based on the way I've heard it used. You know how a term can pick up connotations based on repeated context? For me I only ever get referred to as 'yt' when people are insulting me, and never in normal or casual conversation.

i'm not disagreeing that ppl are using it when they are insulting you, i'm just saying that i'm sure people use the actual word white as a pejorative as much as they do yt. and i was around in poc fb groups when yt became a thing so wiki is incorrect re: origins.
