Some people talk very precisely - a sentence means exactly what they said, and they might not agree with a sentence worded slightly differently. Other people talk vaguely - a sentence means that all similar-sounding ideas are bundled into the same concept. 1/

I lean towards the first category, and will say isolated, accurate things. But if you use words vaguely, then you might think I'm implying something which, imo, I am very much *not* implying. I meant exactly what I said, and no I don't see how you got that conclusion from it. 2/

e.g., yeah, we should question all moral intuitions. All moral intuitions includes necrophilia, yes. No, questioning a moral intuition does not mean we are condoning the thing. It's possible to still dislike necrophilia *after* probing your moral intuitions. I'm questioning-

moral intuitions about necrophilia on principle, not because I am particularly interested in necrophilia, but only because of it's instance in the principle.
Me saying "We should question moral intuitions around necrophilia" does NOT at all equal "Yeah necrophilia is awesome".

In my head this seems extremely clear and self evident, and it's pretty confusing to me how people continually don't seem to get this. They often describe me as a troll or attention seeker - no, I'm just on the autism spectrum and follow things through to their conclusions.

This is a really interesting distinction. I think I tend to be a vague-talker. I’m going after a general idea but it takes a lot of trial and error before I can nail down precisely what I mean to say.

Vague-talkers (V-Ts?) surely don't actually endorse all similar-sounding ideas -- some of those are contradictory, after all.
Some V-Ts only consider the meanings they intend and assume away others, but I think many V-Ts use the imprecision tactically.

I always felt like Spock, even being unable to follow people cheap talking, and having a hard time to make people understand what I say bc they try to find meanings other than those of the exact words I use.

This is very much how it goes for me too, especially in online or text/phone conversations where I cant go off of facial expressions etc., I tend to get stuck on people being imprecise in their language(even though I dont think thats intrinsically wrong) because i'm not.

I think it's useful to be able to code switch, fuzzy when you want to take someone to the general area of concept space that you want them to see, precise when you need to pick out something specific.

As someone with a bit of aspergers, I see it as the content of most people's communication is mostly not in the actual words.
Instead, communication is about sharing positive energy vibes and signaling in-group belonging.
