I can't really answer this question, as I started using hormonal birth control before I was sexually active. (I was about 15 when I first started taking the pill, but was only sexually active two years later.)

I think my ex gf's switch to birth control contributed to our breakup. Her personality seemed altered.

My experience was really similar. It took me a few months to notice I felt different, and a long time (maybe a year+) after I came off BC to notice I felt normal again. Gyno brushed off my report of *pain* after starting BC, so I never mentioned subtle psychological changes.

The women I know who started using it had all kinds of side effects including lower sex drive, and the inverse was true for women who stopped using it.

Didn't really notice a change. Though when I took ovidrel... DAMN talk about increased sex drive for that window. And then there was birth, itself... Kind of evened things out a bit actually, but still more noticeable than any pills.

I've been on the pill since my early 20ies and my sex drive was really high anyway (less now as I'm older and more stressed). would have been a real adventure if it had been even more without the pill

are you specifically interested in the experiences of women who are on birth control or is that shorthand for people who menstruate? asking to not mess up your poll, I'm trans masc & my IUD (hormonal but significantly less and more localized than the pill) slightly increased it
