Should every person in a nation have equal right and weight to their votes on how it's run/elected leaders?

People might interpret this very narrowly to fit people who currently have votes.
Most of those voting yes wouldn't be in favor of enfranchising kids.

The question suffers from immense status quo bias both ways. For people to genuinely consider it they have to question their concept of personhood or their support of democracy. Both uncomfortable.

Within our frame, yes.
I support Liquid Democracy, though, which is a kind of vote lending. Key bit is that it's my vote to delegate as I see fit.
Fundamentally elitist to suppose your vote should count more because other people may be less X or more Y.

We have an electoral college because we are supposed to be a "union" of states, but unfortunately the fed has grown past operating to facilitate interstate commerce to the point where it needs to overpower individual state rights.
