Below is a general summary of what I think is probably going on with black people in the US. This is based off memory of studies/data I've seen, but I'm open to updates if any of my facts seem wrong:

You have a habit of straightforwardly tweeting about controversial and taboo topics. I don't think you're quite neurodivergent enough for this fact to be lost on you, so I frankly don't understand your confusion.

cancellation feels a little extreme a reaction to this tho

They think that any discussion of sensitive topics us why people get "canceled." They think the way things are discussed is irrelevant and it's based solely on the topic itself. I have theories on why, but don't find the phenomenon interesting enough to deep dive.
Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

For lots of people, "get yelled at in public" feels emotionally like "get cast out of society forever". Some never really learn to tell the two concepts apart.
-
That's because people have learned that there's not a clear cut line on the internet. If you say enough things that people yell at you about online, at any time someone can create a viral article, youtube video, or news article putting them together and getting you canceled.
