On this Transgender Day of Remembrance, we honor the memory of the at least 37 transgender or gender-nonconforming people killed this year—the majority of whom were Black and Latinx transgender women.
Today and every day we must recommit to ending this epidemic. #TDOR

37 does not an epidemic make. If you want epidemic figures look at stats for femicide

In a community the size of ours, it is. And often for just being who we are. We should work to make sure everyone is safe. Today is one day in a year to remember our dead. I know you want to be all GC and stuff, but, can you let us grieve for a day?

Even adjusted for the size of the trans population it's still lower than cis homicide victim rate.

How many of them were murdered exclusively for being cis?

even if trans ppl were exclusively murdered for being trans, somehow they still managed to keep their homicide rate below cis ppl! It's very very far from 'an epidemic.' It's unfortunate and tragic and hate does occur, but there's like... actual epidemics going on.
