I'm very agnostic about this sort of thing, and really wouldn't trust any source of information about it until I'd invested substantial time and effort into some very deep digging.

I believe that IQ and Race are not correlated. However the culture in which you were born can have an influence on your upbringing and overall IQ. And different races tend to have different cultures on average. So its tricky

Voted A but I think the descriptions for B and C are kinda sketchy because they talk about "correlated" whereas the initial question was about causal relationships for Ashenazim.

yeah i reworded it to be casual but then ran into an issue - with causal phasing it was hard to clarify that it was the *genes* inside the race, not the race itself, so i gave up and went back to correlated

IQ measures a very socially constructed set of aptitudes that require certain kinds of education, context and practice. It isn't meaningless, because it does measure that particular set of aptitudes in certain contexts that are valued in this society, but limited

This often repeated critique of IQ and IQ tests is wrong. IQ tests measure intelligence, or what is called the cognitive factor g. They're valid across cultural borders and do not measure skills aquired through education. Interesting podcast on the topic http://youtu.be/U1NM8hvJ-tI
