With what rationale? Do they want it? If not, is it presumed to be in their best interest nevertheless, akin to putting down a suffering animal? Or is it solely for some benefit of others? The “why” is more interesting than the choice.

What i like about this set of questions is imagining that all the Yes responders did press the button and what the world was before that.
A planet overpopulated with hundreds of billions, broken social orders, famine, perma-war, pandemics, climate collapse.
A hell, forgotten.
