also i mean white ppl got their slaves often from buying them from black people in Africa, who were slave owners themselves.
Also some black ppl escaped slavery in the US to return to Africa and... promptly enslaved the local population.
Slavery is a "ppl with power" problem.

yeah the slavery in the US was pretty bad compared to other forms of slavery across the world, this is likely because never before had such a significantly different group of people been enslaved before; before it was like 'who you went to war with' or something
