I have hyperhidrosis of the hands and feet, which means they sweat profusely for random reasons, and it's extremely annoying. and it took twenty-eight goddamn years to figure out it's (at least partially) triggered by temperature. At 71F, I sweat profusely. At 69F, I'm dry.

have you checked a correlation with low blood sugar? Like not super low on blood sugar, just relatively low. That’s what sometimes triggers sweating for me. Drinking something sugary or eating fixes it.

For me it's thinking about my hands sweating, thinking about or feeling certain textures (too-smooth polyester or silk), thinking about or hearing certain sounds (quarters sliding on a marble countertop). I get a strong zincy taste in my mouth and shivers too

Don’t know if it would work for you but Carpe makes incredible anti-perspirant lotions for every part of your body and personally I think they’re amazing.

Outside of the brain, I would think that it is tied to the nerves in your hands.
