I'm noticing I'm becoming a little afraid to talk about negative experiences around sex work because it feels like there's a horde of trad ppl waiting to use any little thing I say as proof that liberal sexual attitudes are the end of civilization

I tried to make a private but so many people requested to follow (and there's zero sort or search function) that I couldn't find anybody

If only people with more traditional attitudes didn't have such functional relationships and satisfying sex lives all the time.

lololol I grew up in a traditional world and those relationships were far from functional. I'm not buying this story.

What did you read? I just finished Sex at Dawn today. Was fascinating, highly recommend, though I’m sure I’m not the first to say so.

Had the same bad thoughts when i started to talk about BDSM and abuse, covered as BDSM.
Though decision.

Always fun to have a trad imply that there are no negative experiences and failures to be found in trad life. Like the whole point of life is avoiding any strange or horrible experiences at all costs, unless that cost is the horrible experience of being shamed by trads.

I think this is often a big dilemma in marginalized/maligned communities:
(A) Critics might weaponize any public admission of the internal problem. But,
(B) Hesitance to talk openly about internal problems also maintains & creates problems (socially & psychologically costly).
