Some cosplayers and fashion models do this all the time and it looks just fine. Others pull it as a "making a statement" stunt and those tend to be hideous - things done for importance instead of for fun are just too boring to work this way...

I picked "weird but fine", but I would probably be much more ok with it if it weren't for the fact that literally every time someone does this they pick a dress that looks hideous on the guy.
