a couple of anecdotes I like to use: waiting times. people often think that the problem with waiting times is that they’re too long. shorter waiting times *are* ~generally~ good, but they can often be costly, and often you can also “solve” it by making the wait less unpleasant

I've basically always had this approach: problems are solvable. practice solving problems and you'll get better at them. if you can't solve the big problems you can break them down into littler problems and solve those, or solve the ones *around* it twitter.com/GeniesLoki/sta

I love stories about this. 1. If you put mirrors in elevators, people stop complaining about how slow the elevator is. 2. The Houston airport had people complaining about how long the luggage took to come out, so they lengthened the walk to the baggage claim.

I remember you saying in the blog post about sex work that making paying coins a competition among the men made it fun for them without having to work extra hard to eradicate the knowledge that there were other men, which seems like an example of doing this well.
