Hotness is mostly a consequence of believing that you’re hot. It transcends physical attractiveness, which plays a much smaller role than people think.

I think being confident in yourself and your appearance makes you more attractive but _claiming to be hot_ as defined under traditional norms when youre not is unearned status seeking. The parallel for men is confidence vs braggarts.
