Keep in mind that trans people are rarely recorded as trans people by authorities when they’re victims. In several incidents this year we’ve only found out that the victim was trans (and not a cis person of their birth sex) from their friends, the official reports had nothing.
" Estimates... ranged from 3.66... to 110, when assuming 4 of 5 transgender deaths went unreported and a smaller transgender population. Eight of 12 estimates give a lower transgender homicide rate than that for all residents."
That is a very large range. Race makes a significant difference, too. Also, it would not surprise me if the proportion of unreported deaths was even higher than their highest estimate.
