I was homeschooled and agree that from a learning perspective I wouldn’t trade it for the world. As an observation, strong and strict sheltering is a recipe for disaster.

Find a homeschooling group to socialize with that isn't made up of very religious ppl
'Tis the plan! Isolation (keeping the kids distanced) was kind of the whole point to start, but once things are a little COVID-safer, we're diving headlong into the many local secular homeschooling co-ops. The options have really exploded in recent years.
