We finally figured out that "human rights" is a really powerful phrase and now we're slapping it on anything we need to get sympathy for. It's basically the heroic version of the villainous "racism"

Sure, but what happens when the policy is not well-intentioned and is called out ahead of time for pretty obvious consequences? Am I allowed to be mad at family members for supporting it?
-
Taking the obvious context, Trump was outwardly a fascist from the start. His policies have lead to ~500 kids being permanently separated from their families. And folks still support him. Why are we not allowed to critique that support? Nothing justifies kindness here.

It's the dystopia classic liberals always ranted about. When we all agreed that "X" is wrong, & decided it was an ethical parameter to exercise power over your peers, those with the ability to define "X" became necessarily abusive. Such power should vanish, not just change hands

The framing of every policy disagreement as a human rights or civil rights issue is the reason why certain people go ballistic when they think about a “conservative” Supreme Court.
-
Most policy disagreements aren't framed that way, though. It's only stuff that tramples human rights that gets called out for doing so. (Now, sure, you can find crazies calling taxation a human rights violation, but let's ignore the idiots here.)

So people get a free pass if its unintentional? Can I gently suggest their well-intentioned policy hurts others or will I hurt their feelings? And please tell me what bad side effects I should ignore.
