What do you credit as the reason you are so open minded? Is it because you see the threads of cultish thinking in a lot of the rhetoric on both sides? I often lament the groupthink that rises on both sides. The decisions made to avoid fear and also to promote it.

Same here, only in the other direction. I used to be a supporter of the Islamist far right and so I have an intimate experience with getting radicalized (and deradicalized).
